Origin and Background: (American) Performing Art. When Dick Grayson's parents died in an accident, the young trapeze artist became a ward of Bruce Wayne (Batman).
Membership Status: Although he never joined the Justice League in the comics, Robin acted as a full member of the team during the All-New/Challenge episodes. In this respect, the animated character was more in keeping with the Robin from Earth 2 who joined the Justice Society of America.
Batman and a younger version of Robin appeared together in Filmation cartoons of the 1960s, and again in the 1970s on Scooby Doo and then in their own animated series on CBS. Robin was not a member of the Filmation version of the Teen Titans, and the Titans were not referenced on the Super Friends.
